Julie Williams, John Newkirk and Ken Wittthree Republicans running for the Jeffco school board. Three of the five seats on the Jeffco school board are up for grab on this fall's ballot. This is an all mail in election. Everyone should have a ballot in their mail box within the next week. You can vote for all three candidates as there are three seats. We know this is a non partisan election however there are six candidates running. Three democrats and three republicans and we thought you should know which candidates are the republicans. There will not be party listings on the ballot so remember candidates with the shorter names.
Julie Williams, John Newkirk and Ken Witt are fiscally conservative, will keep your student's data safe and oppose Amendment 66 which will raise Jeffco taxes $126,000,000 and yet only send back to Jeffco $71,000,000 - or 56 cents on the dollar - the rest of Jeffco's money stays in Denver. That is $50,000,000 a year in Jeffco dollars being spent in Denver. For more on Amendment 66 scroll down -
Please take some time to get to know these candidates, and PLEASE VOTE!!

Amendment 66 – $1 Billion Income Tax Increase is Unfair for Jeffco Students.
On November 2013’s ballot you will be asked to raise your state income taxes between 8% - 27%, to raise over an additional ONE BILLION DOLLARS every year for public education in Colorado.
This will also amend the Colorado Constitution to require that 43% of the State’s revenue will be spent on P-12 education. YES, this will tie the hands of your legislators; create a progressive income tax structure, and much of the money Jeffco tax payers will send to Denver will not come back to Jeffco’s children.
If this passes Jeffco taxpayers will spend an additional $126,000,000.00 on income taxes each year. That money will go to Denver and be reallocated so that less than 56 cents on every dollar comes back to Jeffco students.
The Jeffco Republican Party fully supports funding public education but asks you to VOTE NO on Amendment 66. It is UNFAIR for Jeffco.
