Sloan, Marjorie (Democrat) Running for Golden Mayor
Ms. Sloan is hand picked by Jacob Smith to take his place. She is 100% behind his initiative known as Vision 2030 that calls for ever increasing control of the city and its residents by the council. The following is taken from Sloan's literature:
The Golden Vision 2030 Project: Control and Directed Change
Our community values require that we direct and manage change, assure smart growth (transportation and development), affordable housing, and sustainability. As a community, we expect sustainability that preserves the small town look, feel and character.
The following was taken from one of many Sustainability websites (just google the word to learn more):
Definitions of Sustainability:
There may be as many definitions of sustainability and sustainable development as there are groups trying to define it. All the definitions have to do with:
- Living within the limits
- Understanding the interconnections among economy, society, and environment
- Equitable distribution of resources and opportunities
Problems with Sustainability:
- The government sets the limits for its citizens and not the other way around.
- The order of priority is environment first, society and economy are a distant second and third.
- The government decides what is equitable, who sacrifices and who receives. It has been proven countless times that when there is "equitable distribution" of anything, the opportunities dry up.
Sloan's website is like a poster for liberal tax, spend and control policies designed to concentrate power. It's called Centralized Planning and has been a mainstay of socialist countries for decades.
